What is a Stage Monitor?

A Stage Monitor is a speaker that is designed to sit on the floor of the stage and point back at you, so when you are performing you can hear the music, or hear the other band members. Stage Monitors are designed with a curve in the shape, so this allows the speaker to be pointed up at you, rather than if it was flat it would be facing the floor.

Why do you need to have a Stage Wedge?

A Stage wedge is so important to have when performing on at a live event so it allows you to hear yourself, If you can't hear yourself then you could be playing the wrong sound, or singing our of key for example, A Stage Wedge enables you to hear everything that’s going on so you know you are playing the right thing!

What's the difference between a Passive Stage Monitor and an Active Stage Monitor?

An Active Stage Monitor has an amplifier built into the speaker, so the speaker can be placed anywhere on the stage, and you know it will have enough power to drive the speaker. A Passive Stage Monitor will require a separate amplifier to power the speaker, This is normally an external piece of equipment that will need to power the speaker and provide power to the speaker so it can produce the sound.
