The fist thing you need is a power cable to connect the Bass Bin to the mains, Then from your mixer you go into the Subwoofer’s input first, then from the output of the subwoofer you connect into the input of your next speaker and so forth.
What Bass Bin is good for a DJ?
There are many sizes in subwoofers from a 10” driver all the way through to an 18” driver, and also subwoofers come in different power from 200w through to 2000w. It really depends on what your doing, a bedroom DJ may want a small 12” 200w Subwoofer, however a professional DJ may need a 18” 2000w Subwoofer. Whats better, a Passive Subwoofer or an Active Subwoofer?
Both Subwoofers produce great sounds. Active Subwoofers have the amplifier built inside and are normally heavier because the amplifier is inside. Passive Speakers don’t have an amplifier and require this to be purchased separately, Passive Speakers need the amplifier to work, so that’s an additional piece of equipment to bring with you to a gig, Passive Speakers are normally smaller too, Active Speakers can just be plugged in straight away with normal XLR Cables, however Passive Cables normally require Speakon or Jack Leads to connect to. Overall both speakers have their plus points!
